Bouquet Builder: Florist UI Design and Animation

· 7 min read · Source file included

Bright creative studio where the bouquet builder was designed
The builder screen: every stem added pops into the arrangement live.

Ordering flowers online usually means picking from twelve static photos. This concept lets buyers build the bouquet stem by stem — choosing flowers, wrap and ribbon — with animations that make the screen feel like a florist's counter.

Structure: three steps, one screen

Instead of a wizard, the whole builder lives on one screen with three anchored sections: stems, wrap, ribbon. A sticky summary shows the growing bouquet and running total. Buyers never lose context, and the dreaded "step 2 of 5" fatigue never appears.

Micro-animations that do the selling

  • Stem pop. Each added flower springs into the arrangement with a 220ms scale-and-rotate flourish.
  • Wrap wipe. Choosing a wrap cross-fades the bouquet background with a soft paper texture.
  • Price tick. The total counts up smoothly instead of jumping, so upgrades feel delightful, not expensive.

Designing for the undecided

Most buyers arrive without knowing flower names. Big photography, plain-language filters ("bright", "calm", "romantic") and three curated starting points carry them. Latin names exist — tucked into details for the enthusiasts, never in the way.

Takeaway

Configurators win when every choice visibly changes the product. Animate the consequence of each tap and the interface explains itself.
