Overview

Notely sells notebooks, pens and desk goods, plus a monthly subscription box. They were running on a generic template that buried the subscription — their best product. I designed a storefront around repeat buying: subscriptions first, gifts second, and a checkout that takes under a minute.

The challenge

Stationery is tactile; a screen is not. Product photos varied wildly, the subscription was explained in a wall of text, and gift buyers — a huge segment — had no guided path. The shop needed to feel like browsing a beautiful shelf while doing the hard selling quietly in the background.

Approach

  • Subscription page rebuilt as a three-step chooser: box, frequency, gift options.
  • Photography direction and image templates so every product looks shelf-ready.
  • Gift finder quiz routing buyers to curated sets instead of the full catalogue.
  • One-page checkout with address autocomplete and order tracking.

Outcome

Subscriptions became the hero product they deserved to be, gift revenue picked up ahead of the holidays, and the owners now photograph new stock with the template set in minutes instead of hiring a shoot each time.
